In an interview with London radio station Choice FM, Ne-Yo said he now regrets giving Beyonce “Irreplaceable” to record, although he does concede he may not have been able to do the track justice.
The singer/songwriter wrote the female empowerment song – about a woman who kicks her cheating boyfriend to the left – but handed it to Beyonce for her 2006 album “B’Day.” Irreplaceable went on to become a worldwide anthem and the biggest US single for Beyonce as a solo artist to date spending an astonishing 10 weeks at number one on the billboards charts!!!

“I honestly wrote that song for myself,” he told the station. “But that song actually taught me a very interesting lesson – men and women don’t actually think that much differently on the grand scheme of things.
“However, a man singing it comes across a little bit misogynistic, a little bit mean.”
We guess Beyonce won’t be using his services again in her future projects!!!
It’s a girl for R&B superstar Ne-Yo and his baby mama Monyetta Shaw!
The singer welcomed his first child Friday night — nearly six weeks earlier than expected.
“She’s healthy and happy. Feels like I’m in luv for the first time,” Ne-Yo, 31, tweeted Saturday. “Welcoming that lil’ girl to the world last night defined for me what ‘willing to kill and die for’ truly means. My world, my life, all hers.”
Ne-Yo was reportedly at a charity event for his Foundation when he got the call that Shaw went into labor, All Hip Hop News reports. The Grammy nominated singer then rushed to the hospital in Atlanta to be by her side for the birth.
Ne-Yo’s failure to appear a 2008 New Year’s Eve concert in Bellevue, Wash. has landed the “Miss Independent” singer in court and facing a $1 million lawsuit.
The suit stems from a 2009 New Year’s Eve performance for which tickets ranging from $125 to $1,275 for a platinum VIP package were sold, first-class airline tickets were booked and upscale hotel rooms were paid for, the plaintiff’s attorneys said in a statement Tuesday. The expectant father and his booking agent, Mike Esterman, are being hauled into court as part of a trial scheduled to begin later this month in Anne Arundel County, MD — which is where Esterman’s business is based.
The promoters behind the axed Washington gig claims that not only were they not refunded the money for the cancellation by Ne-Yo’s booking agent, they argue that their reputation has taken a hit in the wake of the scheduling scandal. The lawsuit seeks $1 million dollars in damages, $500,000 in other fees, and a refund of the $95,000 deposit.
“Partygoers and planners were left with a stack of bills, unhappy guests and damaged reputations in an industry where who can deliver the best performer is the difference between career success and failure,” Maryland law firm Bowie & Jensen LLC said in a statement. “Ne-Yo and his booking agency are facing a $500,000 lawsuit in Anne Arundel County, Md. Kenyohn Clark of Wet Entertainment LLC in Washington state is also seeking $1 million in damages from Ne-Yo’s booking agent, Mike Esterman, for not ensuring Ne-Yo’s appearance and refusing to refund Wet Entertainment’s $95,000 deposit.”
Ne Yo who was in Mzanzi recently for a few shows , took some time off between his concerts to play with the animals at Joburg’s Lion Park.
The Rnb Singer got to feed Giraffes and Lions and ostriches…
Looks like he had fun!!!
R&B star Ne-Yo was reduced to tears in Manchester last night after he was forced to scrap his gig due to illness roughly an hour into the show.
“I’ve never not completed a show—I’ve never done this before,” he told the crowd, wiping away tears.”I want to say…I want to thank y’all for bearing with me as long as y’all did, I appreciate that.”
