Legendary Singer Mariah Carey and hubby Nick Cannon celebrated the impending birth of their twins with a small group of friends at an L.A. hotel rooftop on Sunday.
The Conservatory Grill at the Montage Hotel in Beverly Hills was transformed into a blue-and-pink wonderland Sunday, as Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon celebrated the upcoming arrival of their twins with an elegant baby shower.
The parents-to-be arrived at 7 p.m., with Cannon, 30, behind the wheel of a black Rolls-Royce that he gave Carey, 41, as a Christmas gift. They were joined by friends including American Idol judge Randy Jackson.
The adults-only shower had a warm and romantic atmosphere with small cocktail tables that were decorated with pink roses and blue hydrangeas. (They are expecting a boy and a girl.) Pink and blue balloons also dotted the private event.
“Mariah has been anxiously awaiting her shower, and she was very excited when she arrived at the hotel,” says a source. “She couldn’t wait to celebrate her baby twins with her friends.”
Carey and Cannon received many pink-and-blue-wrapped presents and several lavish gifts, including two almost life-size stuffed giraffes and two chairs hand-made for the twins.
Guests nibbled on gourmet appetizers and sipped Angel champagne.
“Mariah had the best time at her shower,” says the source. “She was very touched by how nicely everything turned out and excited about all the generous gifts she received. She has been feeling a bit tired and worn out lately, but the shower was an event that she really enjoyed and that made her very happy. Now she can’t wait to meet her baby twins!”
First Nelly Furtado, then Beyoncé, followed by Mariah Carey and now Usher. Since the outbreak of violence against protesters in Libya last month, stars who performed for the country’s dictator, Moammar Gadhafi, and his family have donated their fees to charity in an effort to distance themselves from the controversy.
Through his rep, Usher says he “will be donating all of my personal proceeds from that event to various human rights organizations.”
Carey says she’s embarrassed to have ever been a part of a celebration for the Gadhafis and Beyoncé says she had already donated her payment to Haitian earthquake relief last year.
Canadian singer Furtado was the catalyst for the donations after tweeting her plan to donate the $1 million she received from the Gadhafi family. “In 2007, I received 1million$ from the Qaddafi clan to perform a 45 min. Show for guests at a hotel in Italy. I am going to donate the $,” she wrote on Feb. 28.
Covering up her burgeoning baby bump in a sexy Santa suit, the diva took the stage at the Magic Kingdom venue as she belted out “Oh Santa” and “All I Want For Christmas is You”.
Fab mama!!!
After months of speculation and rumors running wild,Mariah Carey confirmed she is pregnant with husband Nick Cannon‘s child.
This morning on the Today Show in a preview segment of an interview with Access Hollywood, Mariah shared the news about expecting a new addition to the family.
With her celebrity status, it’s no surprise Mariah had trouble keeping things under wraps.
“It’s been a long journey, but it’s been tough because I’ve been trying to have…to hold onto a shred of privacy. And that was not easy,” Mariah said in her sit down with AH host Billy Bush.
In the Access interview, she also revealed that she miscarried right after she and Nick Cannon wed in 2008. “It kind of shook us both and took us into a place that was really dark and difficult,” she said. “When that happened… I wasn’t able to even talk to anybody about it. That was not easy.”
Cannon, 30, said “it definitely brought us closer together. It strengthened our relationship so much… She handled it so well.”
MC didn’t go into too much detail about the pregnancy, giving only minor details on her due date.
“It’s still early. I’m expecting in the spring, I’ll say that. I don’t want to give too much of like, specific outlines.”
Here comes the bride…again. Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon renewed their vows in celebration of their second wedding anniversary. The couple held a small ceremony and reception at their Beverly Hills home on Friday, April 30.
The renewal ceremony has become sort of a tradition for the diva and her DJ/rapper/TV producer beau — who wed on April 30, 2008. The couple now renew their wedding vows on each anniversary.
We have to give them props because we never saw their marriage lasting this long!!!
