Having dated Stuart Townsend for almost 10 years, Charlize even tried to step back from her booming career to save the relationship, but to no avail.
Charlize’s next film is Diablo Cody’s “Young Adult,” which hits theaters December 16th.
When asked what advice she’d give her younger self, Knowles replied, “I would tell myself to trust myself. I am finally at the stage in my life where I am not so concerned with other people’s opinions about my life decisions. It is so liberating to really know what I want, what truly makes me happy, what I will not tolerate. When I was younger I had a hard time setting boundaries.”
And besides being a prolific musician, Beyonce revealed that she also has a love for art. “My mother has been an art collector and always taught me the value of art. She has encouraged me to invest in art since I can remember. The first artist I was truly inspired by was Vincent van Gogh. I was 17 and began doing my own paintings. I used to copy his style. When I was 20 I visited the Sistine chapel and saw Michelangelo’s work and it was one of the most spectacular experiences of my life. I then went on a tour around Europe and visited all the places Picasso and Matisse hung out. I then visited Art Basel and was exposed to all kind of contemporary artists. It got me into art that’s more abstract. Jean-Michel Basquiat and Keith Haring are two of my favorites but I appreciate so many contemporary artists. Art inspires me in so many ways. I use art as reference when I’m looking for inspiration for my performances, wardrobe or a video I might be working on. My husband and I collect all types of art from Basquiat and Warhol to Marilyn Minter.”
A Stunning Beyonce is gracing the cover of the prestigious Harpers Bazaar’s UK September Issue.
Looking ravishing in red on the cover , the pop star reveals how she is embracing the idea of turning 30.
“This is such a pivotal moment in my life,” she says. “I’m transitioning as a woman, and I’m finally able to express myself as I am … I can’t wait to start the next chapter.”
Calling it “scary” when women can’t have friendships with other women, she offers insight into her close relationship with Paltrow.
“She pushes her boundaries all the time,” she tells the magazine. “You go to her house and she makes you feel like you never want to go home. She is what I strive to be one day.”
Paltrow, meanwhile, returns the favor with some praise of her own.
“She is what it means to be a superstar,” the actress says. “No one else can sing and dance like that, while having humor and genuine bursting sweetness. She has her own recipe for it … I wanted my own character to have some of that mega-wattage. So I studied B. She was my homework. We have very similar values. We have also been able to become each other’s support systems over the years, as none of us needs anything from the other.”
Beyoncé also opens up about another famous pal, “Telephone” duet partner Lady Gaga.
“She’s not afraid,” she tells the magazine. “I love that. She wanted me to do something crazy, and so I just rolled with it.”
Photographed by Alexi Lubomirski, the star’s accompanying “Strictly Sexy” fashion spread is, well, strictly sexy thanks to killer designs from Lanvin, Azzaro, Azzedine Alaïa, Hermés, and Armani Privé, which she models in an exquisite mansion.

Lady Gaga is gracing Harper’s Bazaar’s May 2011 cover.
The Controversial pop star opened up with Harper’s about her body, the protestic horns she’s been wearing on her face , fashion statements, her stand on plastic surgery, and more.
Speaking in the May issue of U.S. Harper’s Bazaar, she revealed: ‘I have never had plastic surgery, and there are many pop singers who have.
‘I think promoting insecurity in the form of plastic surgery is infinitely more harmful than an artistic expression related to body modification.’
She continued: ‘And how many models and actresses do you see on magazine covers who have brand-new faces and have had plastic surgery, while I myself have never had any plastic surgery?
‘I am an artist, and I have the ability and the free will to choose the way the world will envision me.’
Gaga is defending her recent taste for the sharp, protruding ‘bones’ that she has been sporting of late.
Questioned by the magazine on them, she insists: ‘They’re not prosthetics. They’re my bones.
‘They come out when I’m inspired.
‘They’ve always been inside of me, but I have been waiting for the right time to reveal to the universe who I truly am.’
Gaga, real name Stefani Germanotta, admitted that she tried to embrace Hollywood when she first became famous, but hated it.
‘I had all these number-one records, and I had sold all these albums, and it was sort of this turning point: “Am I going to try and embrace Hollywood and assimilate to that culture?”‘ she said.
‘I put my toe in that water, and it was a Kegel-exercise vaginal reaction where I clenched and had to retract immediately.
‘I ran furiously back to New York, to my old apartment, and I hung out with my friends, and I went to the same bars.’
Bizarrely, Gaga also believes that the late designer Alexander McQueen is living on through her music.
‘I think he planned the whole thing: Right after he died, I wrote Born This Way,’ the singer says.
‘I think he’s up in heaven with fashion strings in his hands, marionetting away, planning this whole thing.’
She uses her record label’s decision to release the new single on the one year anniversary of McQueen’s death as further evidence of her claim.
‘When I heard that, I knew he planned the whole damn thing. I didn’t even write the f****** song. He did!’
Britney Spears is the cover girl of OUT magazine Online April Edition. In a revealing interview — complete with stunning yet heavily photoshopped photos taken by Ruven Afanador — Brit touts her forthcoming Femme Fatale disc (dropping March 29) as the first effort to boast her mature sound and adult side.
Check out a few excerpts from Brit’s E-Mail Interview With Out:
Britney On What She Wanted To Be Growing Up: “I was in seventh grade and it was career day and I remember thinking that I wanted to be an entertainment lawyer. I always knew I would be in this business somehow. I think this path worked out way better!”
Spears On Her New Album: “I think ‘Femme Fatale’ is my most upbeat and mature album yet. I collaborated with Will.i.Am. I am a huge fan of Black Eyed Peas, and I have always wanted to work with him. I also worked with a new up-and-coming artist from the L.A. area named Sabi. She raps on a song I love called ‘(Drop Dead) Beautiful.’”
On Christina Aguilera: “Truly talented.”
The Worst Career Advice She’s Ever Received: “Someone once told me that the ‘…Baby One More Time’ video should be me as a superhero fighting a giant robot monster.”
Her Idea Of Hell: “Being on a diet.”
Who Are Some Of Her Favorite Pop Stars Of Today? “I love Gaga and Rihanna. Rihanna’s ‘S&M’ is awesome.”
Who Was She In A Previous Life? “Audrey Hepburn, because she was a
trendsetter…”
Adding another magazine cover to her credit, Rihanna appears on the December issue of Marie Claire UK.
And in the accompanying interview, the “Take a Bow” songstress gets real about her life after taking a beating from ex-boyfriend Chris Brown.
Rihanna explained, “Yes . I was very lost. I have to say I felt really confused. It was really strange because… I hate talk about it but it was really crazy because I felt so out of touch with myself and when that happens… it’s scary because nothing you say or do feels like it’s you.”
She continued, “You just lose touch of everything that you love and everything that you would normally do; how you would dress of how you would say something… It just feels like it’s not coming from you. It’s just this one empty vase. I felt like an empty vessel.”
“Eventually, I remember waking up one day and I knew I was over it. One day. I remember I was in New York at the Trump Hotel and I woke up and I just knew I was over it.”
As for her duet with Eminem on “Love the Way You Lie,” Ri says it’s not glorifying domestic violence, but rather trying to understand it.
“He confronted himself on it. He basically gives insight into what goes on in the mind of a couple in a domestically violent relationship. I love that in every verse it just gets to that point where she wants to leave, she wants to leave, she leaves, she leaves, she leaves… but then the hook always comes back and it’s like, ‘I love it. I love it.’ That’s not what you think when it’s happening. You know you don’t like it but you’re staying, so it’s almost like you must love it because you’re not leaving.”
“Every word in that song is true. It would take somebody who’s been on the inside to understand how magical those lyrics are. Everybody loves the song but the lyrics can never hit home until you’ve seen it, witnessed it, in your home or experienced it yourself.”
The-Dream covers the latest issue of Honey Magazine. In the cover story, he talks about fame, his retirement, and life with Christina Milian and daughter Violet.
On Being An Artist Or Writer: “I would probably rather write. It would be at my pace. It would be the more creative things I would do, because you have to understand, there’s a fan base for the type of music I make. But the same people that listen to ‘Purple Kisses,’ ‘Falsetto,’ and ‘Rocking That,’ most of them have no idea that I wrote ‘Umbrella,’ because of me giving up those records. I make that sacrifice.”
On Marriage To Christina: “Still learning. I’m definitely way more mature in this relationship. I’m probably just mature overall because my grandfather raised me. I probably should be more nonchalant. I’m in a place where everything is serious no matter what it is and she with me like, ‘This guy’s crazy.’ Of course I make sense at the end of the day because I’ll explain . As far as money — you got to be careful how you’re spending. Are you thinking about 10 years from now? It’s certain things that become meaningful in a relationship that’s not that real when you’re just boyfriend and girlfriend. The things I think about are a little bit different and those are things she’s learning from me and what I have to do is be more patient.”
