Beyonce is facing a $100 million (R800 million) lawsuit after reportedly abandoning a video game project back in 2010.
Games company Gate Five claim the ‘Countdown’ singer “abruptly abandoned” their project for a dance-related game called Starpower: Beyonce causing them to lose a $7 million investment in the project as a result.
A judge at Manhatton’s Supreme Court has rejected Beyonce’s request to reject the lawsuit, after legal papers for filed against her in April this year.
Gate Five claim Beyonce was in breach of contract by backing out of the project in November 2010, and insists her actions “destroyed Gate Five’s business and drove 70 people into unemployment, the week before Christmas.”
They are claiming her exit from Starpower: Beyonbce also caused them to miss out on potential profits of $100 million.
In response lawyers for the ’1+1′ singer have claimed Beyonce only dropped the project after they failed to finance the video game in time for her involvement to continue.
Beyonce is duet to give birth to her first child with husband Jay-Z at some point over the next couple of months.
When asked what advice she’d give her younger self, Knowles replied, “I would tell myself to trust myself. I am finally at the stage in my life where I am not so concerned with other people’s opinions about my life decisions. It is so liberating to really know what I want, what truly makes me happy, what I will not tolerate. When I was younger I had a hard time setting boundaries.”
And besides being a prolific musician, Beyonce revealed that she also has a love for art. “My mother has been an art collector and always taught me the value of art. She has encouraged me to invest in art since I can remember. The first artist I was truly inspired by was Vincent van Gogh. I was 17 and began doing my own paintings. I used to copy his style. When I was 20 I visited the Sistine chapel and saw Michelangelo’s work and it was one of the most spectacular experiences of my life. I then went on a tour around Europe and visited all the places Picasso and Matisse hung out. I then visited Art Basel and was exposed to all kind of contemporary artists. It got me into art that’s more abstract. Jean-Michel Basquiat and Keith Haring are two of my favorites but I appreciate so many contemporary artists. Art inspires me in so many ways. I use art as reference when I’m looking for inspiration for my performances, wardrobe or a video I might be working on. My husband and I collect all types of art from Basquiat and Warhol to Marilyn Minter.”
Following weeks of rumours and speculation that Beyonce is faking her pregnancy, photographic evidence appearing to show the superstar wearing a prosthetic baby bump have emerged.
The photos show Beyonce greeting a host in preparation for an interview in Australia, and when she goes to sit down, the bump bizarrely folds over.
Upon realising that she had exposed her “fake” bump, Bey gave a shocked look to the host.
It was rumoured last month that Beyonce had used a prosthetic bump to announce her pregnancy on the red carpet of the MTV VMAs, in a bid to make the announcement more dramatic.
Rumor has it that Beyoncé is wearing a fake prosthetic while her unknown surrogate carries her baby to term. Others are accusing Beyonce of claiming to be further along in the pregnancy than she actually is.
