Beyonce Knowles has surprised her fans by revealing that she thinks of herself as a feminist.

The UK’s Daily Mirror interviewed the superstar just before she took her hiatus from music and she discussed her future plans as well as the biggest challenge in her life.  She also reveals that she believes female friends are very important and she would love to have kids one day.   Check out a few excepts.

On Beauty
‘I think a beautiful woman is someone who is confident but not competitive with other women – someone who is warm to everyone. Because my mother told me ever since I can remember that beauty is from within, that looks will fade, I have always been aware that you have to have something deeper to be really beautiful.

On Why She Doesn’t Need Sasha Fierce
I don’t need Sasha so much any more because these days I know who I am. It takes time to figure out who you are and I am still discovering different things about myself – as I am exposed to different experiences I think, “Oh, I like this, I didn’t know I liked this.” That’s the journey of life that is so exciting. More and more I know who I am, I know what I like, I know what I want and that makes me feel so free. I don’t need to hide any more.

On Being A Feminist
I think I am a feminist in a way. It’s not something I consciously decided I was going to be; perhaps it’s because I grew up in a singing group with other women, and that was so helpful to me. It kept me out of so much trouble and out of bad relationships. My friendships with my girls are just so much a part of me that there are things I am never going to do that would upset that bond. I never want to betray that friendship because I love being a woman and I love being a friend to other women.

‘I think we learn a lot from our female friends – female friendship is very, very important. It’s good to support each other and I do try to put that message in my music,

On her biggest challenge
Probably the biggest challenge in my life is time – making sure I have time to be a wife, to be a singer, to be a songwriter, to be an actor and still have time for my clothing line and now for my perfume. I am like any other woman who has a child, who has a husband, who has a job. I think it’s the hardest thing about being a woman because we have so many responsibilities.

You’ve heard of dumping by text message. Some people even like to do their dirty work via voicemail. But Kill Bill star Vivica A. Fox was dumped in a truly humiliating way last week — by press release.

The actress’s club promoter boyfriend Slimm released a notice announcing that they were “no longer dating ,” to numerous media outlets, without telling her.

The actress — 46 — has been dating Slimm, a co-founder of Atlanta, Georgia-based Plush Blue Entertainment, since January, but the romance has frizzled in recent months, prompting the lanky ATLien to publicly declare that he and Vivica were no longer a couple in an email to the press.

“Hey this is Slimm, unfortunately me  and Vivica are no longer dating. After eight months, it’s time to go our separate ways,” he wrote in a statement released last Wednesday. “In life you can love and have chemistry with a person, but flaws can sometimes outweigh the relationship. Hey this is Slimm,unfortunately me and Vivica are no longer dating. I wish her the best and I know she feels the same. Thanks.”

Slimm — who at 26 is 20 years Vi’s junior — appeared to have had a change of heart just a day later. and followed up on his earlier statement with another media release, in which he apologized for “overreacting instead of letting time take its course.”

“I want to clear the air about the rushed statement released yesterday about Vivica and I breaking up. Sometimes a person may act out of anger. Vivica is an important part of my life and I would never try to hurt her. Thanks for supporting us as we figure things out.”

Fox has brushed off the controversy, insisting it was just one of the “ups and downs” of their relationship.

In her own email to The New York Daily News, Vivica wrote: “Slimm and I r fine! All relationships have their ups and their downs. I’m soo proud that Slimm was man enough to clear up the air. He is a very good man with a great heart!”

Despite a highly-publicized breakup a few weeks ago, Notorious Gold Digger and attention whore Khany Mbau is back in the arms of her married lover Theunis Crous who’s an even Bigger attention whore than his on-off mistress.
According to reports , Miss K and her man headed on a romantic break in Europe (France and Italy) last week and as usual, she couldn’t wait shove it on her Facebook and twitter profiles. The socialite was treated to some serious shopping and expensive spas during her fabulous vacation.

The romantic reunion comes a few weeks after Theunis trashed Khanyi in the media and revealed that he had dumped her for good after catching her using Umuthi (traditional Charms ) and performing rituals on him while he was asleep.
Ain’t it nice to see that Khanyi who reportedly suffered a nervous breakdown from the break up has such a kind forgiving heart???

The lead singer of popular German girl band No Angels has admitted to having unprotected sex with several partners without warning them she was HIV-positive.

Nadja Benaissa, 28, was speaking at the opening of her trial in the German city of Darmstadt. “I am so sorry,” Ms Benaissa told the court. However, she denied deliberately infecting anyone. She faces a charge of grievous bodily harm for allegedly infecting one man.

She has also been charged with attempted bodily harm for allegedly having sex with two other men who were not infected. If convicted, Ms Benaissa faces a prison sentence ranging from six months to 10 years.

After the opening of the trial, German news agency DAPD carried a statement from Ms Benaissa’s lawyer admitting she had not handled the HIV virus properly, and conceding she had had unprotected sex. But the singer said: “No way did I want my partner to be infected.”
Aids gala declaration

Ms Benaissa was arrested in Frankfurt last year, shortly before she was due to perform a solo concert, and spent 10 days in custody. Aids campaigners were critical of the authorities’ handling of the arrest and warned against a rush to criminalise the transmission of HIV, the BBC’s Tristana Moore reports from Berlin.

According to prosecutors, Ms Benaissa knew she was HIV-positive as early as 1999. A former lover, who is HIV-positive, has said the singer infected him in 2004 and is due to appear in court in Darmstadt as a co-claimant.

Last November Ms Benaissa appeared at an Aids charity gala in Berlin and openly declared: “My name is Nadja Benaissa, I’m 27 years old, I have a daughter – and I’m HIV-positive.”

No Angels were formed in 2000 on the international TV show Popstars, before recording a series of hits and emerging as Germany’s most successful girl band. They re-formed in 2007 and competed in the 2008 Eurovision Song Contest, finishing 23rd. Ms Benaissa’s trial is expected to end later this month.

Looking focused on his business matters, Kanye West was decked out in his usual dapper attire while spotted out in New York City on Monday (August 16).

The often flamboyant hip hop star chatted on his cell phone as he hopped into the backseat of a chauffeured luxury ride to tend to the day’s agenda.
