Beyoncé breaks her long silence and finally reveals a few a details about her secret wedding with Jay-Z in an interview with Essence.
“What Jay and I have is real. It’s not about interviews or getting the right photo op. It’s real,” Beyoncé said. She even revealed she didn’t want an engagement ring because “people put too much emphasis on that. It’s just material and it’s just silly to me.”
The wedding in New-York was small and intimate because Beyoncé says she is not a “traditional woman,” and didn’t want the drama. “It’s been my day so many days already,” the 27-year-old singer said.
“We’ve been together a long time,” she says. “We always knew it would happen.”
Rap star T.I. has taken his hit making streak to the next level with a historic showing on this week’s Billboard albums and singles charts.
The rapper’s latest release, Paper Trail, entered the Billboard 200 at No. 1 with 568,000 copies sold in its first week. The ranking, which was echoed on Billboard’s Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums, Top Rap Albums and Top Digital Albums charts, marks T.I.’s third consecutive number one album behind his last two platinum-certified albums, 2006′s King and 2007′s T.I. VS. T.I.P.
The move top’s the previous record holder, also held by T.I. for the single “Whatever You Like,” which made the jump to No. 1 from No. 71 the week of Sept. 6. “Whatever You Like” remained at No. 1 until it was knocked off by “Live Your Life.” As a result, T.I. became the first artist to replace himself at No. 1 since the feat was accomplished by Usher in 2004.
In addition to topping the Billboard singles chart, “Live Your Life” had the biggest-ever first-week digital singles sales in history with downloads of nearly 335,000. A video for the platinum-certified track, currently in post-production, is slated to premiere on music video outlets in the coming weeks.
T.I.’s chart success comes just days after he received a special plaque to celebrate passing the 2 million friend mark on his official MySpace page, according to AllHipHip.com.
In related news, the entertainer is currently preparing to take the stage for this year’s BET Hip-Hop Awards.
T.I. is nominated for three awards, including Best Live Performer, Lyricist of the Year and MVP of the Year. The third annual BET Hip-Hop Awards will air at 8 p.m. Oct. 23 on BET.

Rapper Lil’ Kim has been hit with a $2.5 million dollar lawsuit, amidst claims she tried to exit her contract with a fledgling entertainment company, before delivering all the recordings the contract requires.
Brookland Media, which was launched by famed Hip-Hop producers The Trackmasters (Tone and Poke), filed the lawsuit in Manhattan’s Supreme Court on Tuesday. Lil’ Kim’s lawyer, Londell McMillan, says Brookland sued “to leverage their own position” in the contract dispute.
The lawsuit accuses Lil’ Kim of breaching a one-year contractual agreement by demanding a more lucrative deal.
According to the lawsuit, Kim refused to perform unless Brookland agrees to a number of requests, including demands to have Wyclef and Akon added as producers.
In addition to withholding a $200,000 payment to fully free Kim from her contract with Atlantic Records, Brookland won an injunction, temporarily preventing Lil’ Kim from negotiating with other record labels, as reported by AllHipHop.com.
Brookland also claims it invested another $250,000 dollars towards the album and Lil’ Kim’s career. Brookland Media is being represented by attorney , Jonathan Davis.

The much anticipated single from beyonce have finally leaked – “If I Were A Boy” in tagged form, and the uptempo dance track, “Single Ladies.” The two singles are set to impact radio next Tuesday, while Beyonce’s third project titled I Am… will drop November 18th.
“If I Were A Boy” is a pop ballad, which finds Beyonce in a sweet spot vocally, and is produced by Toby Cad (”Big Girls Don’t Cry” for Fergie), while the Tricky Stewart and The Dream-produced “Single Ladies” feels more like “Get Me Bodied,” and will be service to urban radio. I must admit, this new material has me quite excited, as well as the statements that have been released by producers and Beyonce herself. Can’t wait to see what Sean, Rodney and Timbaland have done for her.

Seven jurors from the O.J. Simpson trial say their guilty verdict was influenced more by secret audio tapes and surveillance video than eyewitness accounts.
At a Sunday press conference, the panelists said the prosecution may not have won convictions for Simpson and his co-defendant Clarence “C.J.” Stewart had those recordings not been made.
“It would have been a very weak case,” said Dora Pettit. Another juror David Wieberg added, “Yes, a weak case,” and other jurors nodded in agreement.
The seven jurors agreed to speak out two nights after the verdict was announced in a move to diffuse the onslaught of interview requests. They answered questions for an hour in the same courtroom where Simpson and Stewart were convicted of robbing two memorabilia dealers at gunpoint in a hotel room.
The jury listened repeatedly to recordings made by collectibles dealer Thomas Riccio — the host of the hotel confrontation, who was granted immunity — and felt they heard things that had not been fully transcribed by police, juror Michelle Lyons said.
But jurors could not trust the credibility of witnesses who were given plea deals, Lyons said. “We felt we could not rely on that witness testimony,” she said.
The jurors all denied they wanted to punish Simpson for past wrongs. Pettit said she prayed for him before and after the case.
“I think he’s an ordinary man that made a bad decision,” she said. “I prayed for him and Stewart and the attorneys. I don’t have any ill feelings, and if they walked out tomorrow, so be it.”
Simpson, 61, was acquitted in 1995 of murdering his ex-wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, and her friend Ronald Goldman in Los Angeles. He was later found liable for the deaths in a civil case. He had claimed in the robbery case that he was trying to retrieve items that were stolen from him.
Hip-hip pioneer Russell Simmons rolled out his new menswear collection Friday at the Argyle Culture Fashion Show, which was held at the Setai Hotel in South Beach, Fla.
The line of sporty suits, pinstriped shorts and argyle V-neck sweaters caters to the 25-and-over urban crowd. The goal is to mix urban aesthetics with traditionally professional and preppy attire.
“I want to create a line to reach out to those guys who are not young men anymore but who want to still be part of that urban lifestyle,” said Simmons, who turned 51 on Saturday.
Among other pieces in the show were plaid shorts, free-flowing jackets and classic five-pocket pants created in materials like wool and cotton blends, as reported by the Associated Press.
Celebs attending the show included “American Idol” stars Ryan Seacrest, Simon Cowell and Randy Jackson, as well as actress Gabrielle Union.
“Russell is so amazing and such an inspiration,” said Union, who sat near the runway. “I am just honored to be here in his support and to celebrate his birthday.”
We’ll be bringing some pics of the collection soon!!!
